Introduction

The system works by having members register on The Startup Exchange website. They can then place an ad on the site, either offering or requesting a service.  All the members can check the website to see what is being offered, or post an ad about the service they require. They can exchange messages with each other to see who can provide a service that they are looking for.  Members determine with each other if they want to proceed, and how many ‘points’ need to be paid.  The Startup Exchange management team acts on behalf of the members as a third party record keeper.  Each member gets a monthly statement of his or her trade account, similar to a bank or credit card statement.  All transactions are recorded and controlled by The Startup Exchange terms and conditions, and by the rules and regulations governing use of the site.

The advantage of The Startup Exchange is that members use their own skills and knowledge to support another start-up company, and earn points.  They save time and energy looking for the right contacts, and save money by using a locally based partner who is also a start-up company and understands what it’s like to be in the same position.  Members meet interesting people in other countries who are also small business owners and who have some knowledge and skills to share. For start-up entrepreneurs who are short of cash, The Startup Exchange opens up a lot of possibilities at a very small price.
